The Big River Inn and Restaurant was built in 1896 in Genoa and is known for having one of largest populations of the Amish in Wisconsin. The property was established as a restaurant and later added the hotel when river boats and wagon trails begin to head northwest.

The restaurant portion of the Inn is said to be haunted by a ghost they call Kenny. Guests and former employees believe that Kenny was a former employee. Kenny is said to hide things in the kitchen and turns the television off and on.
